Passive Fire Protection

Engineering, coordination and execution of passive fire protection solutions, according to project scope

We provide passive fire protection solutions to limit the spread of fire and smoke, and to protect elements, penetrations and joints in line with project requirements and the project's fire protection strategy.

  • Firestopping
  • Penetration & Joint Protection
  • Fire Compartmentation

01

Overview

Passive fire protection limits the spread of fire and smoke, and protects building elements, penetrations and joints, in line with project requirements and the project's fire protection strategy. Our role — engineering, coordination and execution — follows the scope of each project.

Work starts with review: where services pass through compartment lines, which interfaces need sealing, and how the selected systems align with the project's fire strategy and the design team's requirements before application.

Firestopping is sequenced with the trades that create penetrations, so seals are installed once, at the right stage, and recorded before walls, ceilings and shafts are closed.

Typical Applications

  • Service penetrations through compartment walls and floors
  • Linear joints and compartment-line junctions
  • Shafts, risers and ceiling voids
  • Coordination with structural fire resistance strategies
