Waterproofing Systems

Waterproofing is designed as a complete build-up rather than a single membrane. Substrate preparation, primers, membrane layers, detailing at upstands, outlets and penetrations, protection and drainage are selected to work together for the exposure each area faces.

Roofs, podiums and terraces are treated with the thermal and drainage layers that sit above and below the membrane, so falls, insulation and protection are coordinated rather than resolved on site. Wet areas and below-grade structures are detailed around their own conditions: continuous moisture, hydrostatic pressure and limited access after handover.

Critical stages are supervised and recorded before the next layer covers them. Where the system and project requirements call for it, completed areas are flood-tested and inspected before protection and finishes are laid.
